Another Stash!

The garage was in desperate need of a clean out so my mom and I started in on it. While going through all of her old VHS tapes (that I was trying to force her to get rid of since they haven't been watched in years) we came upon a clear baggie half full of white powder. Of course my mom isn't an idiot and knew it was Mr Railroad's stash!! We have had many conversations about what we need to do in order to help him and where you draw the line and tell him to get lost. She didn't say a word and just got rid of it. I was absolutely mortified!- not only is it super embarrassing to have to tell your family your married to a drug addict, but I also have a husband who is disrespectful enough to hide his drugs in THEIR garage!!! This hurts me more than him having the drugs! My parents have done so much for us and have always supported him through all that he has done and not done through these past ten years. God has really got to help me get past this one. I am just waiting for now kind of numb. Things either have to get better or they are definitely going to get worse with the way he is headed. Either way I am ready to move on with my life. Hopefully it will be with him instead of without him.

Storm of the Century

    Last night after we got home from Tenderheart's first ball practice we started watching the weather hearing about possible 100 mph winds headed our way. We hurriedly ate and got all the kids jammies on and headed for the basement for a campout of sorts. The kids were excited to be able to sleep downstairs with us (the boys bedrooms are all upstairs) little did we know there would not be that much sleep going on. 

   

The wind began to blow along with torrents of rain that scared even me and I am not usually affected by storms. We were of course also in line for some hail and possible tornadoes too. It rained and rained and blew and blew along with constant lightning and it didn't let up til around two this morning!! I could hear branches breaking off the trees in our yard and the lightning sounded like it was right outside our window.

Thank goodness the kids were able to sleep through some of it once they got so exhausted they just couldn't stay up anymore. Of course our t.v. wouldn't work (when the power was on) because the wind was so strong the satellite wouldn't work. I was huddled down with my cell trying to see the 1 inch square radar that it showed on weather bug to tell if it was on its way out yet praying the whole time that my battery wouldn't die and leave me stranded with no electronics which were the only thing keeping me going. I was facebooking others who were also hiding out in their basements.

Finally it let up and I got a few hours of sleep before I had to get up and clean for another twin day. The yard looks like we have been in a war zone. Thankfully my husband thought to chain up the trampoline to a tree, but it is covered in debris and branches. We have a lot of cleaning up to do outside now too. Some of the fences for the cows were knocked down and some of our family has every tree in their yard blown over!! Well off to work I go... cleaning inside and out- hopefully my kiddos and the twins aren't much of a hindrance today :)

Bullet Points From a Mom on the Run

    Well today is one of those rainy dreary days. I decided that we would get a lot done today- we would get this house cleaned up, do homework, and I could get some sewing done with all my extra time. That was a JOKE!! I have done nothing but chase kids and hold a fussy lil Sweet Cheeks all day (who isn't really that little at 24 lbs.).
    I received a magazine a little while ago with an article about how to manage and organize a family... after holding onto it for weeks planning on getting some great info about what I must be doing wrong- I just now threw it away! You have to have time to read said magazine to glean any useful info, right? Maybe if it was written in bullet points I could get a few pointers in a day. So with that in mind I decided that bullet points should be the new fad and we wouldn't have to actually stop long enough to read complete sentences. Maybe you "moms on the run" will be able to read my "accomplishments" list:

• Got up extra early to accomplish a lot!
• started kids on homework by 7
• finished said homework at 3! ugh!
• cooked and cleaned and remessed kitchen
• babysit one extra kid making the grand total 6
• carried baby 90% of the day = one very achy back!
• wished for ear plugs at least one thousand times- genie delivered 0
• went outside with kids to enjoy the stall in the rain = four wet and muddy kids (they ran into the muddy garden and then tried to clean selves off with the hose)
• napped- none
• sewed - none
• cleaned - none
• brushed my teeth or took a shower - not a chance!!
• made it through the day - hopefully... see if there are any more posts, if not you can safely assume that I have jumped fallen over the edge!

Twin Day!

    Okay so I got up at 6 to finish up the cleaning of the house to give a better impression than we did when they came over the first time. We were at the tail end of putting up the remainder of the laundry when Tenderheart called out "they're here!" The twins had arrived for the first day of babysitting. So far so good... no crying or whining (by me or them). They are just the cutest kids around! The girl has curly blonde hair with adorable dimples and the boy has big, bright, blue eyes and blonde hair. We will see how the day goes and I will keep you updated as to how we progress. Mr. Railroad believes that I have lost my mind taking on extra children lol. I love kids and really want to help anyone out I can while at the same time getting extra income that helps me stay home with the kiddos. It is a win win in my mind (but maybe I am crazy!)
